[Wayfinding & Signage]

[2022]

A wayfinding system developed for Dawson College with the goal of improving navigation, accessibility, and spatial clarity throughout the campus environment. The project began with research into existing signage systems and user movement patterns to identify areas lacking visual consistency and intuitive navigation.

The final system uses simplified iconography, modular layouts, and a structured colour-coding system to create a clear and accessible user experience. High-contrast typography and universally recognizable symbols were prioritized to improve readability and inclusivity for a wide range of users. Designed across directional signage, room identification, and environmental applications, the system balances practicality with contemporary visual design. The outcome creates a cohesive navigational language that integrates seamlessly into the architectural space while improving orientation, efficiency, and overall user interaction within the campus.
